Enkelt is a brand of Ballyconnelly Construction Ltd, an innovative construction company based in Greenock, Scotland. "Enkelt" is a Scandinavian word meaning "simple".
To achieve an energy efficient home we used passive house (PassivHaus) standards set out by the Building Research Establishment. We provide a highly insulated, airtight structure with heat recovery units that meets the strict European passivhaus standard. 95% of the materials used in the build are based on recycled products or are provided by forests managed by the Forestry Stewardship Council
(FSC).
Our exhaustive search for the most efficient long lasting building materials have given our homes as standard: timber argon filled windows, solid timber doors, solid oak worktops, silent floor joists, 3m ceiling heights on the upper floor, floored open loft storage, underfloor heating, heat recovery units, all paints are natural linseed based, lite tile roofs, smart metering and rain water collection.
By adopting successful Scandinavian approaches to size, density, tenure and scheme layouts, we aim to deliver an enhanced urban landscape where family home surround generous play areas, and elderly residents will feel safe and part of the community.
We focus our efforts on urban regeneration and the creation of sustainable developments by working with RSLs, urban regeneration companies, local authorities, established developers and landowners, with the sole aim of making homes better and more affordable.
